I bought a used, ugly PJ- routed German Corvette. I filled the P cavity but the Swamp ash patch did not match the colour of the body. So, I made a ”repair”. I made a flame maple Streamer- shaped replacement body. Passive Dimarzio DP 126 set with passive vol/vol/tone controls.

Yes, I made the body from flame maple blanks.

    Looks nice :)
    Is the body curved?
vol/vol means the DiMarzio Dual sound? :)

Yes, it’s curved body. Wiring is like jazz bass, volume for each pickup and tone.

Sorry, I didn’t take any pics of the making. It’s just basic woodwork.
Oh, one more thing. I really, really like the feel of the contoured body. Maple body balances a lot better than swamp ash Corvette body.

Sure. It’s just a question of money and time.

I can have the reverso body if you use the neck for a repaired buzzard :)

First rehearsals with this repaired bass. Man, I really liked everything on this one! We use IEM, I have Behringer BDI21 as preamp/DI. The sound was great, articulate and growly. Playability and feel of the bass was really, really nice. Repair well done I’d say.
