Just read a nice article about this insteresting instrument, half way between a guitar and a bass, and thought about open a thread about them.

Classic gear: Fender Bass VI | MusicRadar

I don't remember if any of our fellow forumers have, use or had one -from 7ender or any other brand that make such axes-, but any information and experience is welcome.

If you ask me, I'd love to have one. :)

Always wanted one of the early 60's Fender VI's. Really cool and a lot of people love em'.

Just as soon as I have every model of Wick (except maybe the idolmaker ), I'll be ready to give another brand a try. :D

Haha....oh, I meant...except the Idolmaker that Paul might one day get. That's a special one. I would love that one.

I had a guitar player with the Schecter version. It's tough for a bassist to play. If you play guitar too it's easier. I play a little guitar but I'm terrible.

I hear ya... that would be my issue with one of these tightly spaced 6'ers. Playing eggslicers is just so tricky for me....and no doubt these would be too. Wouldn't mind one hanging on the wall though. I don't feel too bad if a bass is used mainly as eye candy  There's enough to go around I think.

Don't wanna sound like a smartass... but I usually feel very confortable and adapt very fast to different instruments. I play guitar, bass, ukelele, djembè, drums... you name it. That's why I feel atracted to every different kind of stringed instrument out there. And BASS VI's are in my "someday" list . :D:rolleyes:

I wish Warwick would make a bass vi!

It would be Framus and probably cost 6000 euro.

For me, it would need that Warwick headstock, and a thumb body, scaled down a small amount perhaps.

You cannot really build an acceptable Thumb type
ax on the Bass VI template. The 28" or 30" scale is
too short to provide a truly Thumb-like neck dive.

Good point... No neckdive = No Thumb
