this is kinda unrelated to warwicks but are passive pickups always compatible to active elctronics ? say for instance a bass has active pickups/electronics, would it be possible to replace the active pu's with the passive pu's ?
I noticed there isn't a U.S. pricelist on the warwick.de website. In general how much more do CS basses made and sent to the U.S. cost compared to the European CS's?
does anyone here know anything about dimarzio bass pickups? are they any good and what would they sound like?
p.s. which magnet is stronger, alnico or ceramic?
Great input (no pun intended) there Stroud. Dimarzio said that actives don't have as high an output as passives on a description of I think it was the X2N's. In my opinion EMG's can sound so polyphonic. Wow Warwick has the greatest price/value ratio of any other bass. Take this as an example the...
Dimarzio actually talked about this once. They said active pickups usually have low outputs. Probaly why Warwick kept the double buck's pickups passive and just made the preamp active.
I heard in the future warwick will obtain afzelia pommele for the cs. After seeing how great bubinga pommele looks, I'm wondering if anyone could post a picture of what afzelia pommele looks like.
Sounds like thumbfreaks on to something there.Woods all resonate differently too. I may have worded what I said wrong but I meant that ash resonates better than denser woods. Thumbfreak may have explained the difference in tone between wenge and maple. I noticed that the denser the wood the...
i actually own that ibanez and it is a wenge neck with bubinga stripes, the most bubinga does in the neck is add stability, I don't believe it changes the sound at all, and also the denser the wood the higher the pitch that is why ash has a boomy sound and ebony has a very tight treble sound
I've played bubinga body basses and never played a bass with an afzelia body and I'm just wondering (since I'm seeking a cs afzelia body bass) how much of a weight difference is there?
we should already know and accept that warwick stopped making wenge bass necks because wenge is now endangered but why is there a difference in neck thickness, i hear about older necks being much slimmer then these new ovangkol necks, why is this? off subject: despite having girly hands i find...
