    what are you driving?

Florin has impeccable taste. I'm driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. My car color is actually a dark blue, that depending on light, looks like purple. Very slick. Also has plenty of room for two car seats in the back. Very important.

    I have a terrible predicament!

True, which is why my Corvette $$ 6 string fretless is in that config.

    New Day Job!

So today is the day I get to meet HPW, as he'll be in the office. Looking forward to it. And the job itself is great; very different from my past endeavors but it's a logical step in the right direction. I just got my laptop set up with everything I need, so next week (when the Artist Rep is...

    First pro gig

Awesome awesome news, congrats! And like Jeff said, enjoy the living **** out of it.

    New (to me) Fortress Day

It is SOME consideration...! I do have a Gruv Gear Duo Strap on it, after all. But, seeing as 90-95% of my gigs are sitting down, it's not that much of one.

    New (to me) Fortress Day

When I first got the endorsement, it was between a Thumb and a Streamer LX. I thought that the LX would be a more versatile instrument for my needs, so it got first billing. I definitely want a Thumb at some point; have always loved that sound.

    New (to me) Fortress Day

Hey now... I still have to get a Thumb, a Stuart Zender sig and then I can get a Daphne Blue Star Bass II.

    New (to me) Fortress Day

Okay, had a couple days off (between when I left my current job and when I start up the new one) so I gutted the Fortress, pulled the guts out and wired the bass up passive. Aside from the fact that the jazz bass pup I have in it now is low output and anemic (and as such, is completely...

    Forum compilation 2013?

I have a solo track I'd be more than happy to put up for the compilation.

    New (to me) Fortress Day

It's still on "the list," Florin. :) Had an JAN III lying around (from my Jack Bruce sig when I swapped it for the JAN I), so that already went on it. I need to spend some quality time and really clean the neck and fretboard, as it's apparent this bass was "put away wet," if you catch my...

    New (to me) Fortress Day

As a proud endorsing artist and a player of Warwicks since 1997, I knew there had to be a clever way to get the P Bass sound while still rocking a W on the headstock. Granted, this says "Rockbass," but that can be easily remedied. May make this into a Frankenbass with a couple other ideas I have...

    New (to me) Fortress Day

Ended up pulling the trigger on a 1st gen Rockbass Fortress that I got for a song (it didn't hurt that the blend knob is broken). I know what you're all thinking, but I bought it with a purpose. All of my other Warwicks are amazing and awesome, but are also all active and have...

anyone installed a Detuner on the E string of their fiver?

I think you'd have to do more than have someone fabricate a new lever; that's only half of it. The other half is when that lever is opened up, the tuner shifts and rotates UP as the set screw hits the lever to set the new tuning of the string. Given that Warwick tuners are already turned DOWN...

anyone installed a Detuner on the E string of their fiver?

Actually folks, it's not possible. The OP is asking to install a DeTuner on the E string of a FIVE string bass, which means the DeTuner has to fit between the A string and the B string on the headstock. Even if you can get the DeTuner installed, there's no way you can open/close it in that close...

Should I buy this bass? (Thumb content)

Yeah, especially since the ends on the old fret markers are pretty rough, that would NOT have come from the factory that way. I had a luthier in town defret a Streamer Pro-M for me years ago, and it looked a lot better than this one. He also spent a couple of days, slowly heating the frets and...

    Warwick Endorsement

Curtis, I'd say a few of those; at the time of my endorsement, I had none of those criterion with exception of gigging 200+ times a year. I'm a theatre musician; most of my gigs are under a stage or behind a curtain so no one really sees me. I also play at church on Sunday, and at the time of my...

    Warwick Endorsement

If I actually thought that, I would've never submitted an application for consideration but I still "made the cut." It's about more than just playing gigs.

    Warwick Endorsement

Sebastian, I'd be curious to find that out as well as I think it's a new category up on the website. I really miss the old site that had the endorsement page that had a list of questions that you needed to answer as well as a list of links to provide to be considered for a Warwick endorsement.

    New Day Job!

Thanks again, folks. I can't tell you how uber-excited I am. A perk I found out as well. Because of GHS and Warwick's relations, I was told that HPW will be in the office in late July, so I will get the chance to meet him. THAT is exciting!

    New Day Job!

I was told that is an unspoken perk of working there. I'd be curious to find out. Truthfully, there are a very small number of string winding companies in comparison to the amount of strings out there, so I wouldn't be surprised at all of Cleartone doesn't make their own strings either.
