the manual refers to this as the hellborg amp has a large output transformer., With no or mismatched load it will heat up. This process will literally take 5 seconds so will not cause any damage.
If you have a speaker plugged in then make sure you have hearing protection..
The gain knob on the hellborg should be seen as a means to match nput sensitivity, so matching the output of the mesa to the inout stage on the hellborg. I set mine up like I would a professional PA system.

Hope you can deal with the balance of thumb basses. They neck dive which makes them fatiguing to play standing up, they do sound amazing though. I was playing mine last night in the studio, really nice. Wont use live though due to the balance issues.
I have never had an issue with any b string fitting into my wick bridges. I use long nose pliers and hold the end of the string into the slot and tune up. I just brute foece them in and have never had any issues.

Hand soldered all tube pre amp into high quality jensen transformer driving a 800 watt class D amp on small tolex casing. Also with jensen transformer DI for recording etc. Lush!!!
I love that amp!
I have the bigtwin and also a one10. Have previously owned the super twin and big baby. All have been amazing for tone output and very light weight. Check this out!!!
If they are willing to make a crazy 8 string chrome fretless Buzzard with flashy lights and hand painted design for Hardy I'm sure they can do this for you.
How's the saying go, "if you can dream it we can charge you for it"
Something like that anyway ha ha
I just bought this bass. MUSICMAN CUTLASS. My first 4 string IN 25 years of playing. Iv kinda been wanting a P bass but want something a little different but the same. Should have this in my hands in a few days.
Anyone noticed these ? cant see any info. I also find it interesting that Warwick no longer mention Hellborg, even under discontinued. Strange as it was the best amp system they have ever built. Maybe Jonus said they cant use his name anymore of something...
