But i think i need something else...Its there but there are no wires or a battery clip.

The person who i choose to put the preamp in should have those though so hopefully ill be updating you all soon!

You might try contacting the East company. The preamp board has connections for a harness - your installer could easily hardwire the pickup and a battery clip to it if he knows which pin is which, but that will void any warranty, whereas the East Co. may just send out a simple harness...

So how was the u retro preamp? I'm considering it for my thumb to get more sounds. don't want to give up that classic thumb growl though.
