I decided to change 16 year old Warwick tuners to Hipshot LIC Ultralite HB6Y 3/8.
Everything fits perfectly, replacing is easy.
LIC means "licensed", and that's means -
proudly born in the USA, but manufactured in Korea.
quality is exelent, gears spins smoothly.
There's nothing to comment more, just watch pictures :)

and yes - neck dive. it's almost gone

I did the same with my Streamer LX 6. Not a huge weight savings, as I found the Warwick tuners to be lighter than the spec I found for Gotoh tuners. But, it was equivalent to about 1 or 1.5 stock tuners not being there, so it certainly didn't hurt.

somewhere I read, that W tuner weights 64 grams. LIC weights 49. on 5 strings, difference is 75 grams. not much, but is. maybe someone knows how much weight JAN III brass?

How is the ol' X-Bass treating you these days, Florin? As basically the only other person I know who ever did a 5st mirrored P config, I'm interested to hear how you're getting along with it. :)

Look good! How do they compare to the weight of the gotoh res-o-lites?

I changed the tuners on my Infinity SN5 for other normal Warwick tuners, and weighted them all, old and new ones. The new ones are 1 or 2 grams lighter. That means around 10 grams less in that heavy headstock. ;)

AdzNadz, as far as I'm aware, there's nothing lighter than the res-o-lites. They're also the priciest.

I've never tried the "licensed" tuners, but the real-deal ultralites have totally changed the way basses I've had actually sit. Keep in mind you'll never compensate for horn length. That sounded dirty.

missed opportunity here to get rid of that gold hardware! ha ha just kidding each to their own.

I changed out my thumb 6 to ultralites and even with a D tuner it worked out lighter over the standard warwick ones.
