hey my friends,

as i wrote a few days ago i f*** up my cabs.
now i have tried some other cabs.

i like the combination of my ampeg svt6pro and two markbass 104hf.

the sound is what i´m searching for. but what about the reliability? has anyone experience with them?

i´m afraid of making a mistake and buying unreliable cabs again.
and i didn´t found enough old threads...

i will try ebs in a few days too, my music store has ordered one today for me.

greets,

peter

my problem is that the ebs has 4 ohms and 800 watts.
-so i could only use it as a standalone.
-my amp has 1100 watts, that´s too much for the cab.

hmmm...

I think the EBS is available in both 4 & 8 ohms Peter.

rewire them to 16 OHms so you'll have 8 Ohms for the two and your amp will deliver
750 watts only.

No news is good news I guess. Haven't seen any complain about their quality, only seen posts of not liking their tone after try them out. I, myself do not like their tone either, so I never play with them long enough to talk of their reliability.

I've only played Markbass stuff in stores, so I've never really put their reliability to the test. Personally, I really like the tone of every Markbass head, cab or combo I've ever played.

They seem like they would be reliable. Aren't they handmade in Italy? Besides, there's gotta be some kind of warranty if you buy one new.....

about the MarkBass... I've had them in a studio (SA450) and done a set of gigs on a "tour" (Little Mark II and a 104HR). Never had problems with anything..no crackling, loss of level, blackouts.. I would give them a 10 on reliability..

Casey is probably the one that has had most experience with Markbass in this forum, afaik. He seemed very satisfied with it.

I`ve tested the MB F1-amp + MB 410hf, and my god it was loud. I really liked the tone and the weight, but not the retail price, so went for another option. I tried an Ampeg SVT-CL + 610 in the same room, but it wasn`t as loud and clear as the MarkBass. MB seemed very easy to work with.

Just keep in mind a 4x10 is soo much easier to lug around than a 6x10.

I have both (lab systems) and prefer to leave the 6 at our rehearsal space unless i know we are playing a massive stage.
