87 SSII... nice and it is early. EQ/pre has been changed, is it an updated MEC 3 band or something different?
View attachment 20309 View attachment 20310 View attachment 20308 I recently bought this 1987 streamer 2; I think it’s one of the earliest ones; great bass ! Just killer tone although it’s a bit heavy . It’s my 6th streamer ; they all are amazing basses .
Yes I am Lalo Garcia; the preamp is a glockenklang that I installed; 3 band 4 knobs and my favorite preamp by far !Very nice grain! Congrats!
the stage 2 has the newer bridge despite being older than the white one . Why is that I wonder ?

87 #1, 86 # 1, 87 #2, 93 Jimmy Earl model, 93 bolt-on model, 89 #1 wide neck
Looks great with black hardware too !View attachment 20326
My 86 that I sold. I remember at the time it was because the neck was too thin!
I wish I still had it. Thin neck and all
The tone of the instrument is undeniable
Stage 1 86 : Seymour Duncan Active with 3 switches and Glockenklang 3 band preampOutstanding!! A Stage II is definitely on the bucket list.
What preamps/pickups are you using in them?
Is this body Maple or Anegre ?Body will be Cherry (pre 87-88ish) or Maple for post 88(ish) Anegre wasn't a body wood it was used for the stringers up the neck. Maple is a little brighter/focused than Cherry but you'd not be disappointed with either.
