How about a MIDI-equipped bass, for playing synth lines?


Or even this, which is actually a percussion instrument, but it sure seems like slap bass technique would translate:

Never liked the cold and horrible lack of tone in a Chapstick. Absolutely revolting instruments.

I have to agree. Levin's performance was not that stellar either. The second player is better, although there's hiccups here and there in his case as well. It's clearly an issue of doing a job that normally would require two musicians to do well.
