Hi all. I am trying to resurrect a Corvette Standard by putting on a new nut. The old one broke some time ago. I need to set the intonation but I don't have any allen wrenches that fit. Which size do I need?

Also, the nut does not fit properly. The side with the lower strings is higher than the fretboard. I removed all the old glue so do I have to sand the nut down or something?

the nut is always higher than the fretboard so probably a misunderstanding

The side of the nut with the B & E strings sits higher than the other side :(

I put some strings on and everything seems all right. I don't think the nut is perfectly installed because the trussrod cover actually prevents the top part from completely sitting on the bottom part. But since the top part needed to be raised anyway, it doesn't seem to be a big problem.

Next, I will attempt to intonate this thing.
