Hey all pros and collegas :)

like my title, iam searching good websites / YOutube lessons, onlinelessons for free (BASS)

It's hard to find any good stuff, because in the net there are too much possibilities and too much information...
Because i have no friend or nothing for Bass to ask for, its difficult for me to decide if one course/lesson/ site is good or not for an beginner....

For Guitar it was a little bit easier, there are so many good ones who make free online-Courses..but in BAss i have no knowledge :(

The site can be in english or German.

If anybody knows good places, feel free to comment this here :) it would be very nice.

What do you mean by "absolute beginner"? You play guitar, right?
You know what? we can easily guide you here for a while, and after that there are tons of knowledge online :)
First things first, I'd have a little bit of patience first 1-2 weeks, and start with some basic "rudiments", with "Levels" see it like a video-game :)

Really, I think some basic stuff you can do in first 2 weeks, if you do them well you can have a basic foundation for the rest of your life. At least at the beginning is about HOW you can play a specific line, not about WHAT you play. Usually if you have a band, others are telling you what to play anyway :))
Drummers have an excellent "rudiments" aproach

First of all learn how to play with the right hand (videos everywehre) then first day focus for example on playing half notes (one open string)
Antonio, that means you put your metronome at 60, and play one beat each two metronom beats. Focus only on being right on time, and when that happens you stop hearing the metronome beat, so you have a way to be sure you are in time. Pretty easy, but if you are doing it right you are already better than half of the bassists I know :))
See it as a video game level, that's level1, let us know when you have it done, and record a video to show us :)
Practice about 20 minutes then take a short break, then again. It seems it is hard to focus more at once.
Really we can kickstart your bass playing here, on Warwick Forum, what do you think? If you really need help, I can record for you what you need to do :)

Try Rocksmith, it's a videogame you can play with a real guitar or bass.

My cousin showed it to me and I find it very helpful if you're a beginner.

Lesson one: find a band.

impossible in my Job :(
i'am a Kitchen-Chef and 98% of the Year i have no fridays and saturdays free... about 5-6 times a year an Sunday free.. so mostly impossible to find a band or mates to play with, because "normal" people make rehearsals and Gigs end of week :( even unter normal circumstances i cant have a regulary day during week free.. my free days are then, if not much work is in the Hotel, and this i cant plan :(

the half tones only at one open string ? or playing all strings (e,a,d,g) ascending and decending ?

Your offer to help me beginning here at warwick makes me very very proud... :9 cant believe it that this happen to me.. but an advice: i am old.. my progressing lerning curve is not as fast as i want to be :D

Scott's bass lessons. It's a YouTube channel and website. Has all kinds of free lessons, practice tracks, etc.

Another option is to get one of the many beginner bass books. Hal leonard do lots that will start at which way to hold the thing and have progressive exercises from there. Not free, but if you look on amazon you might get one used for a few bucks. Not as detailed as an online vid, but it also will have a well thought out series of exercises. I still dig out my old Progressive series Slap bass book for refresher exercises every now and then to get my right hand behaving well.

Adam is right, Scott's bass lesson is awesome, he can guide you well :) Also check his website , and read about him. His motivation to do this amazing free course is actually a pretty sad one, the reason he wears gloves is that he suffer of a nasty disease that leads to uncontrolled movements, and the tight gloves are helping him. So he doesn't know how much he will be able to play anymore, and he decided to share his information for free!!!
I checked his beginners course here
and he also starts with major scale.
If you are an absolute beginner I'd start first with having a good relationship with the metronome and have a good feel of rhythm, then everything else will follow nicely.
I'll try to record a short and sloppy video for you :)

thats all the things i mean :) its hard to judge (for an newbie) where is a good point to start with and what is really the beginning... because of the thing that i must learn it by myself, it can be painful to arcieve a bad technique, bad handposition...you even all know it..its harder to eliminate an wrong technique/behaviour, as to learn it right :D

Getting a teacher to show you some things would be a great start if you are wanting to be 'proper' and all that!

I see nothing wrong with learning some songs you like and learning scales on the side. If its not fun then why bother?
