Question is : witch hardware color suits this dark wood best ?

For the moment, i'm considering replacing the Dolphin's gold HW for a black one (keys, knobs and brigde).

What dya think ?

I always liked spectors take... black knobs, gold on the rest.

Speaking of ovankol, anyone ever seen that aria neckthrough? I think its something like the sbs-4... ovangkol wings, and nato/maple neck... looks dreamy. =]

I can dig the gold, but if I had a dolphin (which I hope to one day), I would definately switch to black eventually.

I prefer the black, and you can get black stacked knobs cause my SN Dolph has 'em.

I would definitely go black hardware. I switched my chrome knobs for Bubinga almost immediately and I'll be switching the bridge and tuning pegs to black very soon.
Black is the new gold!!

Black ftw! To me, gold hardware just kind of makes a bass look pimp.. Black puts an effect on the wood that almost makes you feel like the bass was made by some lumber jack hackin' the ♣♣♣♣ out of a tree :D

deffo black - i'm thinking i may switch the gold hardware on my fortress for black.

anyone know if there's any difference between a '94 bridge and a modern one in terms of construction and tone ?

Not sure what year the switch was made, but the bridge and tail piece use to be made of brass.

would you know what they're made of now ?

maybe i should just go the spector-esque route and just change the control knobs...

I always like black because it matches the pickups. I do agree though that the dolphin pulls off the gold hardware better than most.
